One of the many notebooks in Dell Vostro Series that was released is the Dell Vostro 1320. Slick and professional, the Dell Vostro 1320 was developed as the successor to the older Vostro 1310.

 

As with any Dell products, flexibility and customization are a few of the features that the Dell Vostro 1320 possesses. A user can choose from more than one specifications or configurations.

 

With its flat black color and glossy finish, the Vostro 1320 doesn’t look that stylish. To use the saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Or in this case, don’t judge the Vostro 1320 on appearance alone. It has several capabilities that a user would appreciate.

 

For one, the 1320 is noted for having a screen that is larger compared to its contemporaries. The monitor measures about 13.3 inches. Dell will even offer you two options of a conventional LCD and what they call a TrueLife version which has a glossy finish.

 

As with most notebooks, the concern is on the weight. Lugging around a heavy notebook would certainly be very uncomfortable. It is good then that the 1320 weighs less than 2.7 kilograms. Thus it is easy to carry around, which is what most users want in a notebook.

PROS:

The 1320 ranks high when it comes to convenience and ease of use. The keyboard is just the right size giving your fingers enough space to move. The keys are both responsive and sensitive. Typing won’t be much of a problem and it may even help you develop good typing speed since no great effort is needed to press a key and see a response on-screen. If the keyboard is sensitive, then so is that touchpad.

 

Unlike some notebooks, the 1320 doesn’t heat as much. Heating is always a problem since users usually stop using their units when the heat becomes unbearable. With the 1320, you won’t be bothered by such problems anymore.

 

CONS:

If there is a weakness for 1320, it’s that it was not built for playing pc games. Its capabilities may let you play some old games but hardcore gamers would  be best off buying another model.

 

The speaker setup is another drawback. Typically, laptop speakers are located just above the monitors. In the 1320 though, it is found at the bottom. This becomes a nuisance especially if you are engaged in a video conference or watching movies. The speaker should have been positioned for optimal output.

 

CONCLUSION:

While the 1320 may not work well with games, it wasn’t designed for that purpose. Rather it was designed solely for business use and its specifications are tailored specifically for that. For this purpose alone, the 1320 is certainly worth the money you spent.
